What I've been up to - part 1

While you were knitting crazy hats, I was knitting mittens.

This is all Tori's fault. When asked what she wanted for Christmas, she replied she wanted me to make her mitts. So I did. Apparently mittens on strings are back so I fastened ribbons to them.

The above pair was done in her favourite colours but didn't really match her cape (or any other winter wear) so I made her a pair of flip mitts too. I was working like crazy on these and managed to finish them one hour after we dropped her at the airport. Canada Post must love me this year since I am sending parcels coast to coast regularly.

Then I took a break and did this puzzle that my parents gave me for Christmas. It was the hardest one I have done for a long time. Too bad Susan wasn't around to help put in a piece or two.

Connor really liked the colour of the first pair I did and asked for mitts with fingers. So I made him mitts with fingers (some of you may know them as gloves).

I have made many other items over the last month and I will share them with you shortly.

Stay tuned!

Great Job....I love the colour choices ..NICE! When you said about mittens with fingers, my first thought was they are gloves...I'm going to use that term from now on....I like it and it will be fun to see how any people correct me.

.This past Christmas I made all the grandkids mittens and a hat. Next year I thought I'd make them thrum mitts.

Nice work ....

I'm working on a baby car seat blanket and a jacket. I never really cared or making mittens although I made gloves with half fingers recently. I admire the work though.

C - I am working on thrum mitts now. Have you made them before?
It takes a while to get the hang of thrumming but after that they are pretty fast. Mine are from fleece artists and they are beautiful.
W - you make socks - there isn't that much difference

No toes or thumbs to worry about! ;-)

Very nice. I like wool gloves (hint hint). They look very nice though. Love the "mittens with fingers!"

I enjoyed my thrum mitts. Cheryl hooked me up with them years ago. I never made more than one pair for everyone in the family though.

Maybe someday.

Beautiful colours.
