More Garden Discoveries
The picture doesn't do justice to this insect. He is actually quite golden and the red markings are very vivid (click for a better look). Unfortunately, I have no idea what it is - my best guess would be a leafhopper but I can't find any others that look like this little beauty.

Cool or what?
I saw this swan today when I was working on a riverside garden. A bonus of being a gardener is all the plant and animal discoveries you make. But usually they are terrestrial.I texted Kevin and told him. He replied "way kool".
I texted Caitlin and she replied "cool".
When I got home from work I told Connor. Can you guess what he said?
Yup - "cool". Apparently my family only knows one adjective.

Giant Slug
As I said in an earlier post, this has been a strange year in the gardens. I have seen so many things I have never encountered before. We found this beauty on Thursday. After a lot of research I believe this one is arion lusitanicus. I still have no idea if it is harmful or not here (as in should we destroy it if we find it again). Unless I know something is harmful, I let it live. But I don't pick it up - that is a co-worker.
