On the way home we had a bit of a surprise.
We are used to seeing deer and turkey frequently in the fields as we drive.
We are used to seeing horses and cows in pastures.
We have never encountered a cow on the road before. The car in front of us went up the farm lane to alert the farmer. The cow let us pass then moved into our lane and stared down a Ford F-150. We watched for a minute then moved on.
It occurred to me that this is going to be a milestone for many in our family.Kevin and I will both be 50 by year end.
Caitlin and Alec will be 25 (that makes me feel even older than being 50)
Connor will be 16 (if he lives that long)

HAPPY 50TH KEVIN...
We for many years would have a herd of cattle wander down the hill from the farm behind us and take over the road. The last time had to call in the police, there we so many and they were wandering all over the road and it was the time the school buses would have been coming. He finally got rid of all the cattle.
Sounds like a good dinner and dessert for both. Glad you went out to enjoy it. I too am used to seeing a herd of cattle on the road. We just used to get out and shoo them off the road. By then the farmer would have already seen them and was on his way to collect them.
An ambulance passed us 10 minutes later and we were hoping that no one had hit a cow.
I'm turning 21. That's a big one too!
Tell the old geezer "Happy Birthday" from me! :-)
delayed, but Happy Birthday Kevin. I like 50.
